    Who are the Bereans?

The Bereans are an Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) at West Park Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee. We get our name from a group of Jews who became believers in the ancient city of Berea. The Scripture describes them in Acts 17:11 this way, "Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the Word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so." We desire to follow their example.

Why We Exist

We are a group of senior adults who gather together around our shared faith in Jesus Christ. We desire to learn more about Him, grow in our relationship with Him, and serve Him by loving one another and loving our neighbors as ourselves. We do this through the study of His Word, obedience to His commands, and fellowship with one another and the rest of our church family. We always welcome new guests to fellowship with us!

Some of Our Activities

Aside from our weekly Bible fellowship, we enjoy gathering several times a year for various events like Valentine's Day, a fall celebration, and a Christmas celebration. We are divided into several care groups to make sure we are caring well for one another. Many of those care groups have get-togethers of their own. We don't just worship together, we enjoy being together as well.

For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of the soul and of spirit,
of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
